Description
As an assistant to the high school Band Director, the Visual Coordinator organizes the preparations, exercises, and activities of the high school marching ensemble (Rebel Regiment.) The instructor helps the Band Director prepare and direct individual instrumentalists within the marching band for independent performance of visual techniques and competition, in order for performance as a full marching ensemble.
Requirements
● Background in marching band performance required.
● Experience as an instrumentalist is required.
● Experience in the skills of drum corp style visual performance (e.g. dance basics, marching technique, etc.)
required.
● Experience in assisting with visual design and/or choreographing for a full marching ensemble required. (e.g.
marching band, indoor winds, DCI, or WGI)
● Experience working with school aged students is required; preferably at the high school level.
● Background in a drums corps or spirit organization (e.g., Concord Blue Devils, United Spirit Association)
preferred.
● Background in instruction/adjudication of a marching band and/or drum corps preferred.
