The following information provides both aims/objectives of SCBDA-sponsored jazz events and the National and State standards met through participation.
The following National Standards for Music (Ensemble) are addressed in the execution of these SCBDA sponsored events:

Aims and Objectives
To Stimulate and promote statewide interest in the highest quality of musicianship in jazz performance.
To provide directors and students an opportunity to participate in jazz performances and hear and interact with other directors and students in the state.
To provide directors an students an opportunity to receive constructive criticism from qualified adjudicators.
To provide information regarding jazz performance to directors an students.
To recognize outstanding achievements among band students in South Carolina.
