Description
As an assistant to the high school Band Director, the Percussion Instructor organizes the preparations, exercises, and activities of the school marching band’s Percussion section. The instructor prepares and directs the percussion section for independent performance and competition, as well as for performances integrated within the larger marching band.
Requirements
● Background in marching band percussion performance required.
● Experience in the skills of the various sub groups of percussion performance required.
● Experience in current marching arts technology to include sound reinforcement systems, MIDI, sound design,
microphones, and live audio engineering is HIGHLY preferred.
● Experience working with school aged students required; preferably at high school level.
● Background in a drums corps or winter percussion organization (e.g., Carolina Crown, WGI, CWEA, etc)
preferred.
● Background in instruction/adjudication of a drum corps or spirit organization preferred.
