Good Evening,
The Bands of Hartsville would like to invite you to participate in our 31st Annual Dr Ray Sowell Tournament of Bands on September 30th.
Several of you have attended our contest before and we would love to have you back – some of you that have not been here may want an opportunity to perform for a highly qualified panel of judges as well as in a great facility!
The 31st Annual Dr. Ray Sowell Tournament of Bands will be held at Kellytown Stadium in Hartsville SC on September 30th 2017
Dr. Ray was a beloved educator and friend of the Hartsville Band Program and in his honor we host this contest. The Hartsville Band Program runs a very smooth and organized contest that will provide your students, staff and community a very enjoyable day full of exciting bands and first class adjudication
There are several changes taking place this year that we are excited about:
We will have a total of 7 Judges following the SCBDA Sheets including:
Music Performance (Ensemble), – PATRICK CARNEYMusic Performance (Individual), – TONY ROBINSON
Visual Performance (Ensemble), DAVID CUDD
Visual Performance (Individual), BEN POUNCEY
Overall Effect, – JEFF BRIDGES
Percussion – JESSE WILLIS
Color Guard – LEE BALLENGER
Our Individual Judges will be on the field level.
Several Judges have already confirmed and will be posted once all judges have been finalized!!All Judge’s commentary will be provided to you electronically through DropBox as well as Video performance for you and your staff.
Registration will be as follows:
