My tuba player has unexpectedly moved and I now have no tuba for C.P.A. I do however have a student who takes private piano lessons and can read the tuba part. My question is this…Would it be frowned upon to bring an amplified keyboard player as our tuba? If you have had experience doing this please let me know if you have had an judges comments.

I also have a bass clarinet, bari sax, two tenors, and 7 trombones. I thought of using the I and V chords in the timpani… I just do not know if there is enough time to realistically start a new tuba player and get the characteristic tone quality we need.

Thank you all for the feedback and help!
