Description
Goose Creek High School has an opening for Band Director for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is considered a Co-Director position and is a 215-day contract with stipend. The candidate for this position will Co-Direct the program with myself and Josh Bohl, Director of Percussion. The class schedule includes team teaching the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and teaching a music elective of the applicant’s choice. The program includes the Spirit of Gold Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, 2 Jazz Ensembles, and the Winter Guard program. The Goose Creek Band has seen significant growth in both numbers and performance level in the past few years. Recent accomplishments of the program include: 7th place finish at the 2025 5A State Marching Championships- the highest placement by the marching band in over 20 years. The marching band has also placed in the top 2 at every local competition over the past 2 years Superior with Distinction ratings at CPA: 2024, 2025 - Wind Ensemble in Grade V and Symphonic Band in Grade III 2026 - Wind Ensemble in Grade VI and Symphonic Band in Grade IV 2026 SCMEA performance by the Percussion Ensemble 2026 State CPA performance by the Wind Ensemble in Grade VI Superior with Distinction ratings by both Jazz Ensembles at the 2026 SCBDA JPA Top 4 placements by the winter guard in 2026 CWEA competitions in Scholastic Regional A Consistent recipient of the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award since the 2023-2024 school year The Goose Creek Band program is home to 120+ members comprised of students from the band programs of: Marrington Middle School of the Arts - Holly Hauschild, Director Sedgefield Middle School- Abby Jones, Director Westview Middle School - Ronnie Ward, Director Goose Creek High School is located in Goose Creek, SC, and is 25 minutes away from Charleston and 45 minutes from the beach. Goose Creek High School is part of Berkeley County School District and includes the Berkeley Center for the Arts, which is BCSD’s fine arts magnet. BCSD has the second highest teacher salary in the state and has a wonderful team of outstanding and supportive band directors!
