2025 Marching Band Championships

Happy October!

This week marks the beginning of our celebration of bands across the state as we kick off the State Marching Band Championships! For months, thousands of students, directors, staff members, and parents have dedicated countless hours to create outstanding performances and memorable experiences for audiences, adjudicators, and communities alike. The culmination of these efforts will be on display across South Carolina in the coming weeks.

As directors, it’s easy to get caught up in the competitive nature of this activity—we all want to see our students’ hard work recognized. At the same time, we should pause to appreciate the broader impact of what we do. Every rehearsal, performance, and shared moment in our programs changes lives for the better, and that’s something truly worth celebrating.

A sincere thank-you goes to Wilson High School, T.L. Hanna High School, Blythewood High School, Belton-Honea Path High School, River Bluff High School, North Central High School, and Spartanburg High School for serving as our host sites. Hundreds of volunteers from these schools are giving their time and energy to ensure each event runs smoothly and that every band has a positive experience. As guests, we are expected to show our appreciation by remaining respectful and courteous to our hosts and their volunteers. If any issues arise, please direct them to the site coordinator.

Finally, congratulations to all of our South Carolina bands for an exceptional season. You continue to inspire me with your artistry, dedication, and the incredible achievements you bring to life each year. You all deserve a standing ovation!

Musically yours,
Dr. Adam Scheuch
