The McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts of Coker University is seeking qualified applicants for four positions in music and theatre starting August 2022: Visiting Assistant Professor of Music, Instrumental; Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities; Clinical Faculty in Music, Voice; and Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre. Each position reports to the Dean of the McCall School of Visual and Performing Arts. Review of application materials will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Visiting Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Activities is a 10-month position with the possibility of tenure-track appointment after the first year. The successful candidate will have a strong background in music education methods and band/instrumental conducting and will demonstrate the ability to maintain and grow a strong instrumental program within a liberal arts context. Primary responsibilities include conducting the Coker Concert Band and creating a Pep Band, teaching applied lessons, music theory and other courses in the music education program, teaching courses in the music curriculum according to the candidate’s qualifications and program needs, advising music majors and minors, and sharing administrative duties as needed. Requirements

Required qualifications: Doctorate (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) in Music Education or related field (ABD may be
considered), professional conduction and performance experience, and/or a successful history of
teaching in a K-12 public school setting with certification.
