"We all need help sometimes."

This statement is as true for a thirty-year professional as it is for a first year teacher. Help is always needed on many fronts. Organizational methods, rehearsal techniques, musical selections, discipline systems, parent organizations, travel tips, and SCBDA policies are but a few of the realities faced daily by band directors in our state.

The South Carolina Band Directors Association and the Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Mu have created a Mentoring Program to assist instrumental music educators. Individuals will be matched with experienced, successful teachers in neighboring communities who will be available to answer questions, give advice or just lend a friendly ear when needed.
