REGISTRATION
Directors must pre-register their students for the
region clinic. This is to be done by February 9, 2007.
Registration are to be mailed to me along with the registration fee
to the following address:

Summerville, SC 29483.
The
registration fee is $6.00 per student. (Only one check per
school.) Alternates must be registered
and pay the fee in order to participate in the clinic.
ALTERNATES
Alternates will need to go to the assigned rehearsal areas for their
level (Clinic or Senior) when they arrive.
On Saturday, alternates have the option to attend rehearsals, but they must
be here for the entire day on Friday in order for your school to receive
their OPA Points.
DIRECTIONS
Charleston Southern University is located just off Interstate 26
at Exit 205. Go east on highway 78 when exiting I-26.
Turn left onto the campus at the stoplight and enter the main gates
to CSU.
The best place to drop students off is behind the Strom Thurmond
Building. It will be congested but this is the closest spot to
the Lightsey Chapel lobby. The Library parking lot is also
useful and will be less congested. Buses can temporarily
park in the grass along the back road until students disembark.
Then they must go to the parking lot.
BEHAVIOR
We will be guests of Charleston Southern University for this
weekend. Please review the SC Musicians Handbook which
explains students' attendance and behavior at all SCBDA events.
All Directors are needed to help monitor student behavior.
Please attend all rehearsals to assist clinicians with any problems.
All cell phones must be turned off when students are
rehearsing. Students violating the conduct code
will be dismissed from their respective band(s) and become the sole
responsibility of their director or parent.
RECORDINGS
The 2007 Southern Region Band concert will be recorded
again this year. Brochures for this recording will be given
out on breaks and the CDs and tapes may be purchased in the common's
area before or after the concert.
MEDALS, PATCHES AND T-SHIRTS
Medals will be on sale during the Saturday morning
rehearsal and during the concert intermissions. Checks for large
quantity purchases should be made payable to Jostens. Region Band
patches will also be on sale. The cost for both is $3.25 each.
REGION BAND T-SHIRTS
Region Band T-shirts will be sold again this year by
Helen Culp of Culp-Craft. However, they will have to be purchased in
advance or by mail. NO T-SHIRTS WILL BE SOLD AT THE REGION CLINIC.
