REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

ALL REGISTERED STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS IN ORDER TO PERFORM IN THE CONCERT, RECEIVE A MEDAL; AND QUALIFY FOR THE OPA POINTS!!  Any student who is selected to participate and fails to do so without prior notification to the Region Chair will not be allowed to participate in any of the All-State or Region bands for which he/she may have been selected.

Lunch Break /  Dress for Concert

All equipment must be removed from Cario Middle School. You will meet at Wando High School after lunch.

(Each clinician will instruct his/her students as to specific times and places to meet. Students will need to be already dressed in their concert attire at this time.)

REGISTRATION

Directors are to pre-register their students for the region clinic. This is to be done by February 10, 2006. Registration can be emailed or faxed to me. ( mont3454@bellsouth.net  or 843-821-3992)  The registration fee is $6.00 per student. Alternates must be registered and pay the fee in order to participate in the clinic.

ALTERNATES

Alternates will need to go to the assigned rehearsal areas for their level (Clinic or Senior) when they arrive after they pickup their name tags.  After lunch, any alternates not seated in the Region Band will attend a Master Class. On Saturday, alternates have the option to attend rehearsals, but they must be here for the entire day on Friday in order for your school to receive their OPA Points.

* LUNCH BREAK *

Junior Concert students are encouraged to bring lunch on Friday. There will not be any facilities provided by Cario Middle School to purchase lunch.

Junior Symphonic, Clinic & Senior Band students will be able to purchase meals in the Wando HS cafeteria.
This will allow for everyone to limit any travel off school grounds and be back to rehearsal on time.
 

DIRECTIONS

Click HERE for directions to both Cario Middle School and Wando High School.

Students driving to Wando HS will receive a parking pass for the day. Cars will be towed away if they do not display the pass. Non-driving students should be dropped off in the front of Wando HS. Students will enter the front of the school and turn right at the rotunda to get to the Fine Arts area.

RECORDINGS

The 2006 Southern Region Band concert will be recorded again this year.  Brochures for this recording will be given out on breaks and the CDs and tapes may be purchased in the common's area before or after the concert.

MEDALS, PATCHES AND T-SHIRTS

Medals will be on sale during the Saturday morning rehearsal and during the concert intermissions. Checks for large quantity purchases should be made payable to Jostens. Region Band patches will also be on sale. The cost for both is $3.25 each. 

REGION BAND T-SHIRTS

Region Band T-shirts will be sold again this year by Helen Culp of Culp-Craft. However, they will have to be purchased in advance or by mail. NO T-SHIRTS WILL BE SOLD AT THE REGION CLINIC. For more information on ordering a Region Band T-Shirt, click HERE

Students should bring all of their equipment; extra reeds, valve oil, slide oil, cork grease, sticks, mallets, mutes, etc...
